  1. Q. I saw a delicious dish on one of your programs. How can I find the recipe?
    A.You can find recipes for Food Network Canada shows in a variety of ways:
    1. Type your keywords (e.g. 'chocolate cake', or 'chicken tomatoes') into the "Keyword Search" box on the top of every page, then click on "Submit". If you choose "Recipes" from the dropdown menu beside the "Keyword Search" box, you'll search only in our recipe database. If you choose "Shows", you'll search through episode descriptions of shows we''ve aired (show pages link to featured recipes that are available from each episode.)
    2. In the navigation at the top of each page on foodtv.ca you'll see a link called "Recipes". Click on this to browse recipes according to the show title, category, type of dish, preparation method, and more. You can choose one or multiple selections to refine your search (for example, poultry recipes from Christine Cushing: Cook With Me.)
    3. Recipes are also readily available from shows that have aired within the past 2 weeks by visiting the main page for the series. If you are looking for a recipe that you saw on a particular episode of a show, you can find what you're looking for by following: TV> Shows A-Z. Then click on the show title for recipes, airtimes and more! For example, on a show page simply look for the date and time the program aired in the "Recently Aired Episodes" box. Click on the episode name and you will find links to featured recipes that are available on foodtv.ca. Recipes from "Upcoming Episodes" may also be available.
    4. In the navigation at the top of each page on foodtv.ca you'll see a link called "Search". Click on this to access recipe searching and keyword searching. To search recipes by keywords, enter them into the search box (for example, chocolate cake) then click on "Submit". If you choose "Recipes" from the dropdown menu beside the "Keyword Search" box, you'll search only in our recipe database. If you choose "Shows", you'll search through episode descriptions of shows we''ve aired (show pages link to featured recipes that are available from each episode.)


  2. Q. How can I find recipes from programs that originated on the Food Network U.S. network (i.e. Emeril Live!, Barefoot Contessa, Everyday Italian, or 30-Minute Meals?)
    A. Select Barefoot Contessa recipes are available at www.foodnetwork.com or www.barefootcontessa.com

    Recipes from some programs such as 30 - Minute Meals, Barefoot Contessa, Everyday Italian, Easy Entertaining, Emeril Live! and Weighing In are not available on Foodtv.ca, as we do not have the rights to publish them online. To browse all available recipes by show name, visit our Recipes page.

    Foodtv.ca is continually growing and updating our recipe database, please check back often or subscribe to our newsletter for new updates.

  3. Q. I would love to be a member of a studio audience. How can I get tickets?
    A. Attending a Food Network Canada show taping can be lots of fun. When a show is looking for audience members, we post ticket information on our Web site. Our programs tape at different times of the year and currently we don't have a show that requires a studio audience. If you would like information on the Emeril Live! ticket lottery for the New York filmed episodes, please visit www.foodtv.com.

  4. Q. I want to work at Food Network Canada. How can I find out about career opportunities that will satisfy my appetite?

  1. Q. Where can I buy DVDs, videos and books from Food Network Canada chefs?
    A. As a broadcaster, Food Network Canada does not hold the distribution rights for programs seen on our network.
  2. Q. Does Food Network Canada participate in Cable in the Classroom?
    A. Food Network Canada is not airing a Cable in the Classroom series at this time.

  3. Q. Where can I get information on places I've seen on The Great Canadian Food Show?
    A. Addresses and contact information for the majority of places Carlo visits are available on the individual show description pages of "The Great Canadian Food Show".

  1. Q. What is an SMS message?
    A.An SMS message is a text-based message sent or received on your mobile handset.

  2. Q. What is a shortcode?
    A. A shortcode is a five or six-digit number used to address SMS messages. Our shortcodes are 787878, 363636 and 456225.

  3. Q. What is a keyword?
    A. A keyword is used in the SMS message as an action identifier you send to a shortcode to tell us which service you would like to reach. Each mobile program will have its own keyword.

  4. Q. How much does it cost to send an SMS message to Canwest?
    A. On 787878, SMS messages are $1 each. On 456225 and 363636, standard text messaging rates apply. It costs you the same as it would to send a text message to a friend.

  5. Q. Who can see my mobile number?
    A. Your mobile number is kept confidential. It will not be used by anyone without your permission.
